Terms & Conditions: Assistant Buy-Out

Sometimes our clients are so excited about who we've matched them with that they decide to hire their Elly Assistantas directly as a full-time employee or contractor!

If you're on this page - perhaps you're considering it! We're thrilled that you enjoy working with our assistants.

The following outlines our standard process:

1. Book a call with your Elly Account Manager. Before you speak to your assistant about a direct hire, please discuss the transition with us first to confirm all necessary details and come to an arrangement if your assistant is on board to be directly hired by you.

2. Book a call with your assistant. Here you can discuss a rate and contractor agreement without the involvement of Elly.

3. Pay the buyout fee. There is a USD $5,000 buyout fee required for all assistants, regardless of level. This one-time fee covers the significant investment we make in each assistant, including recruiting, vetting, onboarding, training, and matching, plus ongoing management and professional support — all the steps that have made them someone you want to hire. It also covers the potential loss of recurring revenue from any other clients your assistant may be currently working with. The fee covers the time involved to recruit, vet, onboard, train, manage, and match replacement for your assistant's other client accounts (though there is still no guarantee that these other clients will choose to continue with a different manager). The buyout fee is non-negotiable.

4. Last day assigned, offboarding begins.  The reassignment period cannot begin until the buyout fee is processed. Once payment is made, we will select an official last day for your assistant. This gives us a clear deadline to work toward and ensures a smooth transition for all parties. The buyout fee does not replace your subscription fee during the offboarding period. 

NOTE: Your subscription fee will continue to recur until the offboarding period is complete (in addition to the buyout fee) to cover a) the hours your assistant uses to train replacements, b) training hours billed by each replacement assistant, and c) the continuation of your standard subscription so there is no lapse in your service.

These terms will be validly executed by making a manual payment of the provided invoice, and/or once you (the Client) has authorized Elly to charge the card on file. A signed copy of this Agreement may also be sent to your email on file at your request, as well as a receipt confirming payment.
